MARY B. DAVIDSON, President, Board of Directors

Ms. Davidson recently retired after 28 years as a senior investment manager at the Bank of New York.  In addition to the board of Musica Sacra (on which she has served since 2001), Ms. Davidson has served on many not for profit boards and is currently an officer of the World Learning Board of Trustees and member of the Executive Committee and an elder of the White Plains Presbyterian Church (acclaimed for its music program) in White Plains, NY.

Mary Davidson grew up in the New York suburbs, in a family which financially supported the arts, primarily music exposing her regularly to the great music performances available in New York City.  This set the pattern of music appreciation that would influence her entire life and orientation to the arts.

While attending Vassar College, Ms. Davidson took many music history courses, further developing her appreciation for and understanding of a widely diverse musical repertoire.  With this appreciation for classical music, Ms. Davidson was attracted to the superb and unmatched sound of Musica Sacra and has been attending every performance of Musica Sacra for over 20 years.

During her third year at Vassar, she lived and studied in Venice, Italy which provided an opportunity to become deeply familiar with the works of the Italian baroque period and allowed for extensive travel throughout Europe. This permitted her to further expand her exposure to great music performances, through individual concert performances as well as the many festival series available on a regular basis throughout Europe.

Ms. Davidson understands that financial support for the arts is critical and shares her financial resources and time to that end.
